Magic Hours tells the story of the people who spend their lives in the background of the glamorous movie business. The focus is shifted all the way back to the last row, to the realm of extras and bit players. We take a journey through German film history through the eyes of Johanna Penski, an 84 year old extra. Johanna and her troupe of friends show us how the allure of the movies can bring together people from different generations and social classes.
